On a chilly day in January, a beautiful Belle told me she was working on a Yasha Cosplay. I patiently waited for the cosplay to be done. And, of course, while we were making plans to meetup at a D.C. Cosplay group event with other Critical Role fans COVID happened and ruined everyones life.
Not to be thwarted by the pandemic any longer, I messaged Emily (egdramaqueen on social) and asked if she wanted to do a Yasha Photoshoot with me. We met on a chilly day in a tucked away corner of Monocacy National Battlefield in Frederick, Maryland.
When Yasha stepped out of the car, I was SO excited. Photographing cosplayers is always incredibly amazing because they are my favorite characters come to life. Emily did such an awesome job as Yasha. She also took drama in high school, if I remember right. I know she has PERFORMED, I just can’t remember if it went past high school. What I’m trying to say is her facial expressions are on point. I mean look at this photo of her.

:SPOILER: We were trying to capture the essence of the scene when Molly dies. Facial expression on point. We tried sticking her ginormous sword in the ground, but it ended up looking incredibly silly since it is so large.

Or this one! We were going for Yasha sitting by the fire being controlled by Obann.
