Are you tired of seeing the name Ballenger Farm on my blog yet? I’m not! It is such a cute farm venue that can be transformed into anything magical. Someone even had a picnic wedding, and the photos looked like a scene out of a Jane Austen novel. But, enough gushing about Ballenger. On to the styled shoot and another great vendor: Blooming Arrow Events.
Daveyva is the owner of Blooming Arrow Events and was the brain behind this styled shoot. We found each other through Instagram. When she asked if I would be interested in photographing a Red Riding Hood styled wedding, of course my answer was a big, excited YES! She is absolutely amazing to work with, and her planning and design skills are put on full display in the photos that follow.
Before we kick off the photos, you’ll find a list of all the vendors below. It’s a great starting place for anyone thinking of doing a themed wedding 😉

The first (and only) SNAFU of the day was when our bride and groom models called in sick. More on that later. So, the lovely woman sitting in the chair and getting her makeup done by the Tres Belle Wedding team was Jin, a makeup artist on their team. One model down. Two makes a couple.

While Jin is getting her makeup done, Liz and I brainstorm where we could potentially get a partner for our beautiful bride. She puts in a call to her attractive young neighbor, and just like that we have a groom.
Now when I tell you these two were awkward. They were awkward. I mean who wouldn’t be? They aren’t professional models and they have to pretend like they are a couple. Plus, they only met five minutes ago and I am throwing them together and telling them to stand close to each other. Graham was so funny because I could tell he was really nervous. He even asked me, “How do I hold her hand?” To which I replied, “Well, how you would normally hold your girlfriend’s hand? Let’s do fingers interlaced.”
If I could make these two look like a couple and comfortable in front of the camera, I’m pretty sure I can make anyone comfortable in front of the camera, lol.

You saw some of the styled portion of the bar above, but this table in the woods was what fairytale dreams are made of.
